This norigae (노리개) pairs a hand-finished decorative knot with a machine-embroidered fabric patch and a full silk-type tassel — a traditional Korean ornament originally worn on a hanbok waistband, and just as at home hanging from a bag, a doorknob, or a piece of furniture today.
The rectangular patch is embroidered with a peony branch in full bloom alongside a smaller bud, finished with a tiny butterfly in the corner. The patch has a slight padded loft rather than lying flat, and its edges are bound in matching fabric. A flat decorative knot sits at the top of the patch with a plain cord loop for hanging, and a second, smaller knot connects the patch to the tassel below.
The tassel itself is built from three color-blocked thread segments, each finished with a thread-wrapped head before the strands fan out into a full, glossy fringe.
